Co-founders of the Joe Coffee Company are Jonathan Rubinstein and Gabby Rubinstein and they are not in a marital relationship- they are siblings! When they just started serving specialty coffees to the NYC community, there were not many places where you could enjoy the specialty coffee in Manhattan. Joe coffee's founding story reminded me of George Howell's as he started his coffee shop in Boston since he couldn't find good ones in the neighborhood.

The first Joe coffee company didn't look like the traditional coffee shop- it was more like a drive-through style small place. Now they have more than 12 brick-and-mortar stores just in NYC and they have a roastery in Long Island City. Specialty coffee was not the only factor in their growth and success.

For Jonathan and Gabby, hospitality was important as high-quality coffee beans. For example, they shared the story where customers who forgot to bring cash- and when there's no such thing as Apple pay- could come back and pay later for the coffee. The interviewer asked if there was any customer who took advantage of them but Jonathan and Gabby couldn't think of an example.

We wanted to see if I can tell the differences between the Cometeer coffee pod and the brewed coffee so we took a trip to the Joe Coffee Company. 직접 brew 해서 내려먹어 보니 코미티어 커피 팟으로 먹을 때 보다 더 커피 원두 날 것의 맛이 더 느껴졌습니다. 집에 있는 그라인더가 성능이 좋은 것이 아니라 커피 알갱이가 골고루 부서지지 않는 데서 오는 차이점인지는 모르겠지만, 코미티어 커피 팟으로 먹는 더 데일리 블렌드가 더욱 스무스한 맛을 자랑합니다.

When we brewed the Daily blend at home, we could taste the raw taste of the coffee beans. I am not sure if that has to do with the grinder- the one that we have is not the best and it leaves some bean chunks-but Cometeer coffee pod had a more smooth taste.
